The Clinton Herald Monday August 4, 1930 p. 5 Dr. Lyman M. Ellis, a native of Clinton, passed away Sunday morning at 8:45 o'clock at the Jackson park hospital Chicago, where he had been taken the day before suffering from an acute attack of angina pectoris. This was an ailment that became evident but a few months since, causing a relinquishment of his professional duties and plans to go to San Diego, Calif., for the winter, accompanied by his wife and her mother, Mrs. C.B. Obert. The body is to be brought to Clinton for funeral services and interment, the family arriving at 6 p.m. today. Services are to be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the G.E. Lamb home and the Rev. Frederick G. Williams of Grace Episcopal church is to officiate. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery. Lyman M. Ellis, the son of Judge Lyman A. Ellis and Mary Buckley Ellis, deceased, was born here February 7, 1871. He was married to Miss Louise Lyon Obert, daughter of the late C.B. Obert and Mrs. C.B. Obert, April 27, 1916. She survives. He also leaves two brothers, Charles F. Ellis of Los Angeles and Frank W. Ellis of Clinton, and one sister, Mrs. G.E. Lamb of Clinton, also a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers, George Ellis of California and Daniel Ellis of Denver, Colo., preceded him in death. Dr. Ellis acquired his professional education at Jefferson Medical college, Philadelphia and had his internship at the U.S. government hospital, St. Louis. He never practiced his profession in Clinton but the year following his marriage was resident physician for the Clinton interests in an industrial enterprise centered about Charleston, Miss. Afterward he became identified with the Sherwin-Williams Paint company as factory physician and at the head of their welfare department, Chicago and other centers as a lecturer for he was a man of acumen and keen knowledge in those subjects to which he gave his deepest interest. He was so thoroughly imbued with the thought of looking after the welfare of the employees of the company with which he was identified that he did not relinquish his activities there when he first knew of the heart trouble that was coming upon him, remaining active even after he was physically unfit. Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Ellis went into Chicago at noon yesterday and Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Lamb arrived there today coming from Wheeling, W.V.
