DAVENPORT — Louis L. “Gene” Hill, 82, of Davenport and formerly of Clinton, died Thursday at Meadow Lawn Nursing Home, Davenport.
He was born Aug. 31, 1924, in Ottumwa to Alva and Velma Chapman Hill.
He farmed for more than 30 years in Clinton and Scott counties. He later worked with National By-Products for more than 10 years before retiring in 1986.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Dennis) Dean of Long Grove; one son, Frederick Hill; three grandchildren; one sister, Mary LaRose of Davenport; one brother, Hubert (Laura) Hill of Cherokee Village, Ark.; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a lifelong partner.
