Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Marcia Strahl, pastor of First Lutheran Church in Chadwick, officiating.

BRADENTON, Fla. — Marian J. Larson, 85, of Bradenton and formerly of Chadwick, Ill., died Monday at Tidewell Hospice, Bradenton.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, Ill.

She was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Lyndon, Ill., to John and Ida Wagenecht Bierman. She married Maurice O. Larson on May 16, 1943, in Morrison. He died in 2001.

She was educated in rural Whiteside County schools. She graduated from Morrison High School in 1940.

She was employed with an insurance company in Morrison and then as a secretary and bookkeeper at a farm loan association in Morrison. She, her husband and parents owned and operated Bierman and Larson Chevrolet and J.I. Case Implement Co. for 19 years. She then was a secretary and bookkeeper with the Chadwick Swiss Cheese Co. and later was employed with the Chadwick Driver’s License Facility from 1974 to 1985.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Chadwick.

Survivors include one son, Arlyn (Trenna) Larson of Fountain Inn, S.C.; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Evelyn Maxfield of Savanna, Ill, and Mrs. Shirlene Yamnitz of Brandenton.
