Clement E. Quinlan

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Michael W. Elmore officiating.

DEWITT — Clement E. Quinlan, 83, of DeWitt, died Monday at the Clarissa-Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clinton.

Pallbearers will be Steve Quinlan, Brian Petrehn, Kyle Golimowski, David Jost, Dick Bennis and Mike Fullan.

He was born in Delmar on Sept. 17, 1923, to Clement F. and Catherine Welsh Quinlan. He married Dorothy Jost on July 23, 1946, in Clinton.

He graduated from Delmar High School in 1942.

He served as an electrician in the U.S. Navy, submarine division, during World War II.

He was employed as a machinist with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and later was the maintenance unit supervisor with ALCOA. He retired in 1986.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Petrehn of Camanche; one son, Steve Qunilan of Arlington, Va.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Bill (Ruth) Quinlan of Jasonville, Ind.; and one sister, Mary Catherine “Bobbie” (William) Shay of Iowa City.

Memorials may be made to the family or the Clarissa-Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one brother.
