Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gaylor Nelson, pastor of Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew, officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Hilda M. Ehl, 98, of Maquoketa, died Friday at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in the Andrew Cemetery.

She was born March 10, 1908, in Washington to Gottlieb and Maggie Buehler Cornelius. She married Henry Adam Ehl on Sept. 21, 1927, in Cedar Falls. He died in 1963.

She was a homemaker and also farmed with her husband in the Andrew and Springbrook areas for many years before moving to Maquoketa in 1971.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Andrew, and was a member of its WELCA. She also served as treasurer for country schools in Jackson Township.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Weirup of Delmar; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Hilda M. Ehl Memorial Fund has been established.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one daughter, three brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
