Herman Heinsen

Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton.

CLINTON — Herman C. Heinsen, 96, of Clinton, died Thursday at his home.

Burial will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

He was born July 26, 1910, in Clinton to Heine and Mathilda Petersen Heinsen. He married Ell Gremmels on Oct. 12, 1933, in Des Moines.

He graduated from Clinton High School in 1928 and Iowa State University in 1932 with a degree in engineering.

He worked as the superintendent of the power plant at Clinton Corn Processing, retiring in 1974.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; sons Donald Heinsen of Newbury Park, Calif., Edward (Shirley) Heinsen of Granite Bay, Calif., and Robert (Jane) Heinsen of Ankeny; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Radio Hour or the Lutheran Hour Ministries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and a great-grandchild.
