Francis W. “Frank” Saladino

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport.

DAVENPORT — Francis W. “Frank” Saladino, 81, of Davenport, died Tuesday at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Interment will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born April 8, 1925, in Davenport to Tony and Lillian Wriedt Saladino. He married Shirley Stender on June 14, 1947, in Davenport.

He farmed until 1971 in Scott County. During that time, he also served as a Scott County assessor. He was later employed as a supervisor in the traffic and sign department for the city of Davenport. Following his retirement, he painted for Ruhl and Ruhl for a number of years.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wilton Lodge 167, A.F.&A.M, Davenport Consistory, KAABA Shrine and Scott County Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; children, Eugene (JoAnne) Saladino of Clinton, Steven (Joy) Saladino of Davenport and Jacqueline (Jim) Smith of Columbia, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, William Saladino; and one sister and brother-in-law, Anne (Delmar) Dudgeon.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law and one grandchild.

Death date: Jan. 9, 2007
