MORRISON, Ill. — Thelma Dykema, 91, of the Four Seasons Living Center, Morrison, died Thursday at Four Seasons Living Center.
Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.
She was born June 18, 1915, in Garden Plain, Ill., to Louis and Susie Haan Renkes. She married Clayton Dykema on Oct. 3, 1940, in Morrison. He died Dec. 22, 1997.
She was educated in local grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School in 1932.
She worked at the Whiteside County Home Bureau as a secretary and then in the Soil Conservation Office. After her marriage, she helped her husband run his real estate and auctioneering firm, Dykema Realty.
She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church for 75 years, and sang with the choir. She also taught Sunday school, was a leader in the Girl’s League, co-sponsor of Jr. Christian Endeavor and a pianist for the Lydian and Women’s Missionary Societies. She was a member of the Morrison Hospital Auxiliary and the Morrison Camera Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon (Duane) Habben of Morrison, Marla (Ken) Irion of Dubuque and Ann (Steven) Bush of Morrison; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Marian Snyder of Morrison.
Memorials can be made to Four Seasons Living Center and Ebenezer Church’s Radio Fund.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and two brothers.
