Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Morrison Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Ron Lott, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clinton, officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Howard L. Bielema, 85, of Morrison, died Sunday at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, Ill.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.

Pallbearers will be Richard Bielema, Jeremy Willie, Jason Bielema, Thomas Coleman Jr., Kristina Willie, Danielle Bielema and Nicole Coleman.

He was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Morrison, to Clarence and Anna Balk Bielema. He married Doris R. Meuzelaar on July 31, 1957, in South Holland, Ill.

He attended Central College, Pella. He graduated from Reformed Bible Institute, Grand Rapids, Mich.

He and his wife served as missionaries with North Park Chapel, Grand Rapids, Mich., from 1960 to 1964; American Indian Chapel, Chicago, 1964 to 1981; Christian Indian Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, 1982 until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, he and his wife formed Morrison Christian Preschool.

He was a member of Morrison Christian Reformed Church. He was a former member of Spring Valley Reformed Church, Fulton, Ill., where he served as an elder and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dawn (Ralph) Willie of Berwyn, Ill., and Joy Coleman of Joliet, Ill.; one son, Keith (Pamela) Bielema of Crest Hill, Ill.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (Robert) Venema of Fulton and Esther (Dick) Ebbers of Morrison; and two brothers, Stan (Marge) Bielema and Kenneth Bielema, both of Fulton.

Memorials may be made to Morrison Christian Reformed Church.
