SERVICES: A private family service will be held Wednesday at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa.
MAQUOKETA — Ilona H. “Bobbie” Rich, 88, of Maquoketa, died Thursday at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.
She was born May 21, 1918, in Budapest, Hungary. She married Lloyd George Rich on May 30, 1942, in Bethlehem, Pa.
She immigrated to the United States in 1938 aboard the SS Conte di Savola.
She attended the University of Pennsylvania.
She became a United States citizen in 1943.
She and her husband moved to Maquoketa with their son, Thomas, after World War II.
She and her husband established a metal fabrication business where she served as an accountant and portfolio manager. She also managed several rental properties and an apartment complex in Chicago.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lloyd Thomas Rich of Carbondale, Ill., and Leigh Roger (Jamie Sue) Rich of Davenport; and three grandchildren.
