Frieda Jewell

Visitation: Noon to 3 p.m. Friday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton.

SERVICES: 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A reception will follow at 6 p.m. at the family’s home, 1816 N. Fifth St., Clinton.

CLINTON — Frieda Jewell, 76, of Clinton, died Monday at her home.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steve Parsons, Spike Duuck, Dr. Brian Codogan, Greg Weis, Kurt Winter and John Parsons.

She was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Atmagea, Romania, to Jacob and Amalia Stehr. She was a war refugee during World War II. She married Elmer Jewell on March 7, 1959, in Ulm, Germany. He died in 1991.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; she attended for more than 40 years.

Survivors include two sons, Alan F. Jewell of Conroe, Texas, and Henry J. Jewell of Andover; two daughters, Marion A. Sweat of Broomfield, Colo., and Helga Kruschik of South Roxana, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Rust of Germany; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons and three brothers.
