Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Herb Bollman, pastor of Faith Reformed Church, Lanark, officiating.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ill. — Bertha Boelkens, 84, of rural Milledgeville, Ill., died Saturday at her home.

Burial will be in Schriner Cemetery, Lima Township, Ill.

She was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Morrison, Ill., to Timothy and Henrietta Dykema Van Kampen. She married Clarence Jean Boelkens on Feb. 18, 1943, in Morrison. He died in 1999.

She attended Southside and Northside elementary schools in Morrison and Morrison High School.

She worked briefly with the Volckman Furniture Factory, Morrison. She and her husband farmed in Fairhaven Township, Ill., and in 1944 moved to Milledgeville where they farmed for more than 61 years.

She was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church, Lanark, Ill., where she also taught Sunday school.

Survivors include four sons, Delbert (Dorothy) Boelkens of Forreston, Ill., Donald (Janice) Boelkens of Milledgeville, David (Janalee) Boelkens of Lanark and Stanley Boelkens of Milledgeville; three daughters, Joyce (Randy) Stenback of German Valley, Ill., Janet Winters of Milledgeville and Jane (Dana) Miller of Mount Carroll; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Henry) Drolema of Sterling, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Ida Mae Stuart of Morrison; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Faith Reformed Church, Lanark, or Gideons International.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, one brother, two nieces, two nephews, two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
