Frances C. Kissling

Frances C. Kissling, 96 of Dubuque passed away Friday, October 27, 2006, at the Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque. Burial will be held in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Dubuque. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque, where there will be a Parish Wake Service at 4 p.m.

Frances was born on July 7, 1910 in Dubuque, Iowa, to Frank and Mary (Graf) Schmitt. She married Russell Kissling November 5, 1938 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He preceded her in death February 27, 1986.

She was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church and a past member of the Packer Pals. Frances bowled for many years in the Armstrong-Aces League, volunteered at the Xavier Gift Shop and at St. Marys lunch room and she raised 5 beautiful daughters.

She is survived by 5 daughters: Jacqueline (Charles) Rutledge of Fulton, IL, Peggy (Tom) Meyers of Durango, Iowa, Sonya Hudspeth of Dubuque, Sandra (Mike) Ernsdorff of Dubuque, Susan (Marvin) Bennett of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mildred McNett of Waterford, Wisconsin and Bertha Basten of Dubuque; Sister in law Hazel Schmitt of Dubuque; Brother in law Fr. John Kissling of Chetek, Wisconsin. She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband Russell Kissling, 1 grandson, Joseph Hudspeth, 2 sisters, Marie Hickie and Rosella Basten, 3 brothers, Joseph, William, and Frank Schmitt.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church or Stonehill Care Center.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill Care Center for their loving care.
