Edna M. Willhite

Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Community Congregational United Church of Christ. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, is assisting the family with arrangements.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Dan Schadt officiating.

CLINTON — Edna M. Willhite, 86, of Clinton, died Tuesday at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton.

Inurnment will be in Willhite Cemetery, Wingate, Ind., at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

She was born Sept. 29, 1920, in Dayton, Ohio, to Fred W. and Clara Nancy Boucher Meyer. She married the Rev. E. Leon Willhite on May 10, 1942, in Polo.

She graduated from Lexington (Ill.) High School in 1938. She received a teaching certificate from Indiana Central College, now the University of Indianapolis.

She taught school for two years in Polo, Ill., until her marriage.

She and her husband served churches in Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Iowa.

She was a member of Community Congregational United Church of Christ where she participated Church Women United and the Iowa Conference UCC.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas R. (Carol) Willhite of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Duane A. (Tina) Willhite of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marian (Anders) Anderson of Bradenton, Fla., and Ruth Parker of Carbondale, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandchild and one sister.

Memorials may be made to Community Congregational Church, Clinton.
