Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Calamus-Wheatland High School gymnasium, Wheatland. Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday in the gymnasium with the Rev. Sarah E. Kretzmann officiating.

CALAMUS — Debra Griebel, 48, of Calamus, died Monday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Pallbearers will be Chris and Mike Forret, Charles Freese, Todd Rohling, James Knepper Sr., Cliff Lund and Sandy Hedges.

She was born Feb. 22, 1958, to Georgia and Glen Jacobsen. She married Keith Griebel on June 16, 1979.

She graduated from Fulton (Ill.) High School.

She worked with L.E. Chute Printing Co., Davenport, for 30 years.

She was president of the Calamus-Wheatland School Board for four years and served as treasurer for the FFA. She also did bookkeeping for her husband and son’s trucking company, Griebel Trucking.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jason, Jeffrey and Christopher, of Calamus; her mother, Georgia of Cordova, Ill; two brothers, Glen of Erie, Ill., and Mike (Dana) of Calamus; and one nephew.
