Velma G. Hartwick

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Dennis Glew officiating. Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

CLINTON — Velma G. Hartwick, 66, of Clinton, died Sunday at Mercy North Hospital.

Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 13, 1939, in Maquoketa to Edwin and Elda Huebbe Wing. She married Maynard Hartwick in 1969 in Newton.

She was a 1958 graduate of Clinton High School.

She was employed with General Electric, Morrison, Ill.,for 30 years before retiring in 1995.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Robyn (Richard “Pete”) Byers and Dawn Hartwick, both of Clinton; one son, Charles (Donna) Shadid of South Port, N.C.; four grandchildren; four brothers, Willie Huebbe, Dean (Shelly) Wing and Darrell (Sue) Wing, all of Clinton, and Calvin (Sue) Wing of Morrison; four sisters, Delores (Willie) Sikkema of Clinton, Linda (Alan) Flagel of Preston, Laura Davis of Clinton and Susan Claussen of Galesburg, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Clinton, or to the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, five brothers and one sister.

Death date: Oct. 29, 2006
