Dorothy Helene Rathje

Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Pape Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

CLINTON — Dorothy Helene Rathje, 92, of Clinton, died Sunday at her home.

Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Brent, Rhonda and Kendall Rathje, Mark and Gregg Kuehl and Tom and John Rathje.

She was born May 9, 1914, in Manning to Emil and Henrietta Mohr Stuedemann. She married Lewis Rathje on Oct. 5, 1933, at the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage, Clinton.

She graduated from Elvira High School.

She and her husband farmed.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton County Farm Bureau Women where she served as county chairwoman, a 4-H leader for many years and served on the Iowa State Library Board.

Survivors include two sons, Victor (Dianne) Rathje of Amana and Allan Rathje of Clinton; one daughter, Laurie Kuehl of Clinton; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one stepsister, Ruth Huebe of DeWitt; and one cousin.

Memorials may be given to the Clinton County 4-H Foundation or St. John Memorial Fund.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
