Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wendell Davelaar, pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, officiating.
MORRISON, Ill. — John J. Dykstra, 70, of Morrison, died Tuesday at his home.
Pallbearers will be Mathew Tegeler, David, Michael and Andrew Dykstra, Nathan Anderson, Spencer Hume and Brian Waugh.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.
He was born May 25, 1936, in Fenton, Ill., to John S. and Anna Link Dykstra. He married Arlene F. Feldt on Oct. 12, 1956, in Fulton, Ill.
He was educated in rural Whiteside County grade schools. He was a 1954 graduate of Fulton High School.
He farmed in rural Morrison.
He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, Fulton, and served as deacon. He also was a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Marcia (Larry) Heinitz of Morrison; two sons, Michael (Cindy) Dykstra of Manhattan, Ill., and Alan Dykstra of Morrison; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Sidney (Margaret) Dykstra and Gary (Donna) Dykstra, both of Fulton, and Donald (Joycelyn) Dykstra and Robert (Eleanor) Dykstra, both of Bellflower, Calif.
Memorials will be established.
