Keith Albert Cerling

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Camanche Chapel of the Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

CAMANCHE — Keith Albert Cerling, 81, of Camanche, died Sunday at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, with military rites accorded by the Clinton AMVETS.

He was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Chicago to Ture and Alice Stenfeldt Cerling. He married Betty McKenrick on April 14, 1952, in Elmhurst, Ill. She died in 1979.

He was a veteran of World War II. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a cement finisher and operated the concrete division of Cerling Construction, Chicago. He built, owned and operated the Camanche Marina with his brother Bob. He later moved to Sunnyvale, Calif., after his wife died and operated a mail courier service for nearly 20 years before retiring and moving back to Camanche in 2001.

Survivors include two sons, James (Kathy) Cerling of Clinton and Daniel (Maura) Cerling of St. Charles, Ill.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Robert (Laura Jane) Cerling of Evansville, Ind., and Don Cerling of Grand Rapids, Mich; and one sister, Karen (Bill) Tinsman of Salem, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and one sister.
