Visitation: 9:30 a.m. until the service time Friday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jay Keppel of the United Church of Christ in Maquoketa officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Eleanor H. Parmer, 94, of Maquoketa, died Monday at Clover Ridge Place in Maquoketa.

Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.

She was born Oct. 5, 1912, in Sanborn, S.D., to John Pross and Elizabeth Green Pross. She married Elmer E. Parmer on May 9, 1928, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died in 1994.

She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Maquoketa area for many years.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Maquoketa. She had been a former member of the Fulton, Iowa, Community Church and the Fulton Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Vivian (Eldon) Hazer of Maquoketa; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

An Eleanor H. Parmer Memorial Fund has been established.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters.
