SAVANNA, Ill. — Wesley “Wes” C. Bailey, 73, of Savanna, died Saturday at Mercy Medical Center–Clinton.

Inurnment, with full military rites, will take place at a later date.

He was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Savanna to Leslie L. and Genevieve V. Garrow Bailey.

He was a 1951 graduate of Savanna High School.

He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.

He worked for many years as an auto mechanic for Ferris Motors, Savanna, and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad as a machinist.

Survivors include three daughters; Barb (Bryan) Hopkins of Gratiot, Wis., Cindy (Tony) Hoffer of Apple River, Ill., and Candie Bailey of Elizabeth, Ill.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard A. (Ramona) Bailey of Savanna; one sister; Patsy M. Raab of Clinton; and a special friend, Norma.

A memorial fund has been established.
