Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way.

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral with the Rev. John Stack officiating.

CAMANCHE — Leona Mary Blumer, 74, of Camanche, died Wednesday at Mercy North Hospital.

Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eric and Frank Rickerl, Brian and Steve Mumm, David and Carl Kaup, Nicholas Singelmann, Greg Rickerl and Adam Mumm.

She was born July 24, 1932, to John F. and Cecelia Sterk Rickerl in Charlotte. She was married to Richard L. Blumer from 1957 to 1980.

She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1950. She attended the American Institute of Commerce Business School.

She worked with Redman-Neubauer Insurance and later as a trade relations specialist with A.C. Nielsen Clearing House for more than 17 years.

She started as a volunteer with the Gateway Area Chapter of the American Red Cross in 1991 in the blood program. She also served on the board of directors for six years. Since 1998, she was responsible for data entry and other administrative and volunteer tasks.

She attended Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche, and served on its Altar Rosary Society. She was a lector and participated in the choir. She also was active with the Women of the Moose and AMVETS Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Tim (Beth) Blumer and Matt Blumer (Bonnie Michaelson) of Camanche; one daughter, Lisa Blumer (Patrick Recob) of Overland Park, Kan.; one brother, George (Rosemary) Rickerl, Virginia E. Mumm and Alice Pringle, all of Clinton; and 52 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gateway Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, two sisters and six brothers.

Death date: Sept. 13, 2006
