Visitation: There will be no public visitation.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Sunday at East Iron Hill Community Church and Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, with the Revs. Ed Elliot and Sunnie Hermetet officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, is in charge of the arrangements.

MAQUOKETA — Dale Manford Cool, 85, of Maquoketa and formerly of the Quad-Cities, died Monday at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

He was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Columbus, Kan., to Clyde and Mary Cool.

He was a high school graduate and attended two years of college in Kansas.

After high school, he was a pilot and airplane inspector with Boeing Aircraft, Kansas City. During the war, he was a civilian employee for the government and after the war came to the Quad-Cities to be an apprentice as a bricklayer. He then became master of his trade until retiring. He was then a successful sales representative in charge of a three-state territory. He then retired and became an antique dealer.

He was an active church member of East Iron Hill Community Church and served as an assistant scout master, usher, greeter, choir soloist and other positions.

Memorials may be made to East Iron Hill Community Church or the Jackson County Humane Society.

There are no survivors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and one sister.
