Donald Paul Mott, 73, of LeClaire, IA passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, following an extended illness. A requiem mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 13 at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church, LeClaire. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Don was born October 24, 1932 in Tipton, IA to Edwin and Mary Alice (Ralston) Mott. He married Ardith Schepers in Lost Nation, IA on June 22, 1957. Don was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and served as an Iowa Highway Patrol Trooper for thirty years, retiring in 1988.
He is survived by his wife Ardith of 49 years; children, Lynette (Conrad) Halden, Brenda (Bruce) Gray, Connie (Wes) Reese, Brian Mott, Chris Mott, 9 grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Tasker and Marilyn Frasher.
