Eunice V. Kevern

SERVICES: 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

ELIZABETH, Ill. — Eunice V. Kevern, 92, of DeWitt and formerly of Elizabeth, died Sunday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

She was born Aug. 11, 1914, to John and May Weber Deneen in Riley, Wis. She married Norman G. Kevern on Aug. 6, 1932, in Lanark, Ill. He died in 1993.

She graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1930. She later attended teacher’s college in Platteville, Wis. She was a nurse’s aide at the Elizabeth Nursing Home for many years before retiring in 1979. She also was a homemaker.

She was longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Hanover, Ill.

Survivors include one son, Clifford (Rose) Kevern of Chatham, Ill.; two daughters, Norma Jean Arnold of Elizabeth and Alice May (Marvin) Schnepel of DeWitt; one brother, Mark (Helen) Deneen of Riley, Wis.; one sister, Doris Trader of Elizabeth; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A general memorial fund has been established in her name.
