Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Chadwick.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick with the Rev. Dave Davies officiating.

CHADWICK, Ill. — Darlene Marie Schleuning, 66, of Chadwick, died Tuesday at Freeport (Ill.) Health Network Memorial Hospital.

Burial will be in Chadwick Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Freeport to Joseph and Edna Traum Kuhse. She married Richard Schleuning on Sept. 11, 1959.

She attended schools in Milledgeville, Ill., and Chadwick.

She was a homemaker. She worked 18 years with the Chadwick School District, driving bus and working in the kitchen.

She was a co-founder and very involved in the Carroll County Girls Softball Association. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Chadwick.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Tina Marie Wienk of Freeport, Joy Bull of Mount Carroll, Ill., and Dawn (Ron) Hastings of Savanna, Ill.; one son, Rich (Susie) Schleuning Jr.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Owen Kuhse of Stockton, Ill.; and one sister, JoAnn Ross of Savanna.

She was preceded in death by one son, one grandchild, both parents and one son-in-law.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
