Alta Lorraine Kenniker

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scott officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Alta Lorraine Kenniker, 71, of Maquoketa, died Sunday at her home.

Burial will be in Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

She was born April 25, 1935, in Maquoketa to Clifford E. and Irma Comstock Stowers. She married Kenneth Keith Kennicker Sr. on April 17, 1954, in Maquoketa.

She was a 1952 graduate of Maquoketa High School.

She was a secretary with Clinton Engines, Maquoketa, until 1958. In 1961, she and her husband owned and operated Kenniker Office Supply and Trophy Sales, Maquoketa, until December 1985. She then worked in the dietary department at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, from 1990 to 2004.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Laura (Ed) Curley of Maquoketa; stepchildren, Allan (Debbie) Kenniker of Maquoketa and Kenneth (Lori) Kenniker Jr. of Fort Myers, Fla.; one grandchild; six stepgrandchildren; and one sister, Laneta (Fred) Lutzen of Elephant Butte, N.M.

An Alta Lorraine Kenniker Memorial Fund has been established.
