SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, with Alice Martin officiating.
VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
CLINTON — George E. Kramer Sr., 101, of rural Clinton, died Wednesday at Mercy South Hospital.
Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ike Marburger, Hank Kramer, Gene McDonnell, Dick Giddings, Bob Case and Paul Hagenson.
He was born Dec. 29, 1904, in Clinton to Henry Christian and Emma Miller Kramer. He married Wilma Elaine Carpenter on Nov. 4, 1929, in Sabula. She died in 1993.
He had been employed with the Milwaukee Railroad at Elk River Junction for 17 years. He also worked at Clinton Corn Processing Co. before retiring in 1968.
He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Brenda (Bob) Case of Lake Geneva, Wis., Mrs. Carole (Ike) Marburger of Sabula, Mrs. Sharon (Richard) Giddings of Stillman Valley, Ill., Mrs. Sandy (Tom) Marburger of Davenport, Mrs. Joyce (Peter) Tode of Arizona, Mrs. Janet (Dean) Marburger of Arizona and Jackie Kramer; five sons, George (Georgia) Kramer of Clinton, Gene L. Kramer of Clinton, Ronald (Juleen) Kramer of Sabula, Mick (Rebecca) Kramer of Cedar Edge, Colo., and Jerry Kramer of Arizona; 46 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two grandchildren.
Death date: Sept. 6, 2006.
