Shane Sebastian Christenson, the son of Richard Christenson and Joyce Deimerly, was born July 2, 1970, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.
Shane entered the United States Navy in 1989 and served during Desert Storm. He was honorably discharged in 1993.
On March 21, 2000, Shane married Dawn M. Nellist in Clinton, Iowa.
Shane worked for Van Diest Supply Company for a few years and has been employed with Union Pacific Railroad out of Cedar Rapids since 1989.
Shane enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia and spending time with his kids.
Shane passed away on Monday, September 4, 2006, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Renwick, at the age of 36 years. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Jim and Mabel Deimerly.
Survivors include his wife Dawn Christenson of Lisbon; daughter, Nicole and son, Adam of Lisbon; mother, Joyce Deimerly of Tucson, AZ; sisters, Ann Fankhauser and husband Joe of Renwick and Anita Timmerman of Goldfield; brother, Joe Timmerman of Altoona; sisters-in-law, Vicki Rinks of Phoenix, AZ, Sandy Busch of Charlotte and Lynn Enwright of Suisun City, California and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Chris Podhajsky officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-8:00 P.M at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
