Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, and from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Friday at the church.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue. The Rev. Pastor Paul Gammelin will be officiating.

BELLEVUE — Russell A. Guenther, 75, of Bellevue, died Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque.

Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Bellevue, where full military honors will be performed by the local American Legion.

He was born March 18, 1931, in Bellevue to Milton and Lillian Hecklesmiller Guenther. He married Gaynell Roe on June 13, 1952, in National City, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a signal maintainer for the railroad, working for 44 years before retiring from the CP Rail System in 1993.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary (Dan) Kucera of Bellevue and Marcia (Leon) Stillmunkes of Springbrook; one son, Mark (Sara) Guenther of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria (Robert) Medinger of Bellevue; one brother, Dennis (Mary) Guenther of Cedar Rapids; and one brother-in-law, Terry Brooks.
