Charles “Chuck” Hugunin

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at Camanche Immanual Lutheran Church. Horan and McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

AURORA, Colo. — Charles “Chuck” Hugunin, 91, of Aurora and formerly of Clinton, died Aug. 14 in Aurora.

He was born March 24, 1915, in Clinton to William and Sarah Elizabeth Hugunin.

He graduated from Clinton High School in 1933.

He served in the U.S. Army as a master sergeant. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration.

He was a volunteer fireman with the Chadron (Neb.) Fire Department, past master of the Masonic Lodge and member of the American Legion.

He was a ham radio operator and founder of the Pine Ridge Radio Club.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn “Pat” of Aurora; daughters, Nancy (husband, Monroe Hunsicker) Hugunin of Invermere, B.C., Canada, Carla (Warren) Elmer of New Orleans, Mary (John) Mandley of Centennial, Colo., Lisa Hugunin of Aurora and Tina (Jeff) Kiernan of Fredrick, Colo.; one son, Charles (Kara) Edward of Independence, Ky.; one brother, Thomas (Elenore) of Santa Barbara, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Berdea of Camanche; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one daughter.

Death date: Aug. 14, 2006
