Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Clinton Chapel of the Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

BEAVER DAM, Wis. — Ruth M. Murphy, 94, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Wieneke, Aaron Ford, Craig Murphy and David Calhoun.

She was born Dec. 25, 1911, in Mason City to Dale and Harriet Lichtenberger Chamberlin. She married Michael J. Murphy on Nov. 7, 1935, in Clinton. He died in 1988.

She graduated from Clinton High School in 1930 and attended Scovill Business School.

She retired from Medical Associates in 1974.

She moved to Cedar Rapids in 1995 and later to Beaver Dam in 1997.

She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she served on the church council and Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Wa-Tan-Ye Club, Daughters of Isabella, Daughters of the American Revolution and charter member of Sigma Beta Phi.

Survivors include one son, Richard (Rhodonna) Murphy of Friendship, Wis.; two daughters, Margaret Wieneke-Ihrke of Beaver Dam and Jeanne Ford of Binghamton, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandchild and one brother.

Death date: Aug. 29, 2006
