Michael Tony McFadden

Michael Tony McFadden, 62, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2006, at Weerts Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. until service time. Memorials may be made to The Michael McFadden Memorial Fund.

Michael was born March 8, 1944 in New London, Connecticut, the son of Phillip Day and Geneva G. (Gavaza) McFadden. He married Juleta R. LeLievre on March 1, 1969 in Kincheloe AFB, Michigan. He served seven years with the United States Coast Guard on the USCGC Eastwind, traveling to Antarctica on three separate trips. He was a delivery driver with United Parcel Service in Davenport, Iowa for 31 years retiring June 30, 2000. He was employed with the Teamsters Local 710 in 1997 for 6 months as a business agent. He was also employed by Farm and Fleet in Davenport for one year. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, the Boston Red Sox, and being with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Julie of Bettendorf, Iowa; daughters, Michelle (Dennis) Pewe of Bettendorf, Iowa and Shannon (Randy) Mizaur of McCausland, Iowa; son, James LeLievre, of Windsor, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kelsey, Zach, Dylan, Beth, Brandon and Austin; a sister, June (Ted) Cathcart of New Hampshire: and his mother-in-law Jewel Smith of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

A special thanks to all the Medical Staff at Genesis Medical Center East and West Campus. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
