E. Louis “Lou” Heath

SERVICES: Were Aug. 11 at Evergreen Mortuary, North Oracle and West Miracle Mile, Tucson, Ariz.

TUCSON, Ariz. — E. Louis “Lou” Heath, 76, of Tucson, died Aug. 1 at his home.

He was born March 13, 1930, in Savanna, Ill.

He served in the Army occupational forces in Germany after World War II.

He helped secure the Tucson Millwright Local Union 1182 charter. He became a business representative and was elected executive secretary of the Southeastern District Council of the Arizona. In 1977, he was appointed general representative over several western states and was later promoted to eighth district general executive board member for the Union Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was a member of Millwright Local 1914 for 46 years.

He lived in Arizona for 47 years. He retired in 1992.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wiebenga Heath; children, Randy (Deborah) Heath, Susan (Skip) Bizek, Debra Miller and Cindy (Tony) Cons; one brother, John (Arlene) Heath of Syracuse, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or American Heart Association in his name.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, his parents and two sisters.
