Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. today at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will be an additional visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Halligan McCabe De Vries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

LONG GROVE — Charles A. Loussaert, 81, of Long Grove, died Wednesday at Bettendorf Healthcare Center.

Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sean Moeller, Austin Suiter, Kellan Loussaert, Brennan Axtell, Jim Green, Dan Newell, Gene Newell and Jordan Axtell.

He was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Long Grove to Alphonsus H. and Loretta T. McMahon Loussaert. He Elizabeth Kaczinski on June 23, 1953, in Grand Mound.

He farmed in Long Grove. He also raised hogs. He retired from farming in 1992.

He was president of the Scott County Pork Producers. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Scott County Farm Bureau, North Scott Athletic Boosters Board and was active in the Long Grove Lions Club and served as past president.

Survivors include his wife; children, Susan (Randy) Denner of Eldridge, Robert Loussaert of Long Grove, William Loussaert of Davenport, Kathleen (Glen) Moeller of Davenport, John (Tammy) Loussaert of Long Grove, Nancy (Jason) Suiter of Eldridge, Patrick (Michele) Loussaert of Eldridge and Lisa (Dean) Peer of Long Grove; 13 grandchildren; and one brother, Ray Loussaert of Long Grove.

Memorials may be made to St. Ann’s Church, Long Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Long Grove Lions Club or Bettendorf Healthcare Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one brother.
