Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie, with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 2:30 p.m.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

FENTON, Ill. — Joan R. Hawk, 73, of Fenton, died Thursday at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. Ill.

Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Portland Township, Ill., to Chester and Mildred Dorathy Holland. She married A. Lyle Hawk on Oct. 7, 1950, in Erie. He died in 2000.

She was a cook with the Erie (Ill.) School District for 20 years before retiring in 1988.

She was a member and past matron of the Evangeline Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Erie, past president of the Erie PTA and Fenton United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Lake Erie Country Club where she served as a president, vice president, secretary and treasure of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Steven (Nancy) Hawk and Kent (Laura) Hawk, both of Erie; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers, Neil Holland of Oregon, Ill., Rodney Holland of Kewanee, Ill., and Dale Holland of Prophetstown, Ill.

Memorials may be made to the Erie Ambulance Service.
