Arthur Petersen

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scott officiating.

SABULA — Arthur W. “Pete” Petersen, 66, of Sabula, died Tuesday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Burial will be in Rossiter Cemetery, rural Charlotte, where full military rites be accorded.

He was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Clinton to Arthur and Nellie Prindle Petersen. He married Merna J. Goettsch on March 30, 1973, in Clinton.

He was educated in Maquoketa schools.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was employed with Union Local 309, Rock Island, Ill., as a construction laborer for 30 years. After retiring from the union, he worked part time for the Maquoketa Co.

Survivors include his wife; children, Robert Petersen of Halliesburg, Miss., Terri Petersen of Clinton, Vickie Petersen of Clinton, Sherry (Bill) Sewell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Heidi (Dan) Peiffer of Sabula and Josh (Bobbi) Petersen of Sabula; one stepdaughter, Brenda (Ron) Mere of Fremont, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

An Arthur W. “Pete” Petersen Memorial Fund has been established.
