Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls. Ladies of the Moose Prayer Service will be at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Morrison, with the Rev. Mike Winkelman officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Florence Schroeder, 79, of Morrison, died Sunday at Mercy Medical Center, Clinton.

Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.

She was born Sept. 14, 1926, in Morrison to Adolph and Augusta Cooreman LeFevre. She married William Schroeder on Nov. 26, 1947, in Morrison. He died in 1981.

She worked as a cook at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison for 20 years before retiring in 1991.

She was a member of the Ladies Aid at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Morrison, AARP’s local chapter and Wa-Ta-Ye, a women’s organization in Morrison. She was a member of Ladies of the Moose and Academy of Friendship, both in Sterling, Ill.

Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne (Harry) Adams of Morrison; three sons, Butch (Crystal) Schroeder of Morrison, Robert (Deborah) Schroeder of Albany, Ill., and Arnie (Marna) Schroeder of Clinton; one sister, Emma Schroeder of Morrison; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Morrison and the Sterling Moose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Death date: Aug. 13, 2006
