Fern V. Bauer

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, DeWitt. The Rev. H. Robert Harness will be officiating.

DEWITT — Fern V. Bauer, 80, of DeWitt, died Saturday at the Bluff Terrace Nursing Facility, Clinton.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Sewejkis, Abram Tubbs, Christopher Bauer, Michael Garofalo, Bob Weiland, Dennis Eads and Steve Cairney.

She was born May 14, 1926, in rural Cedar County to George and Viola Timm Reiling.

She taught school in Toronto, Welton and Delmar for 44 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, the altar and rosary society, the retired teachers association and Pierian Club.

Survivors include one son, David (Lisa) Bauer of DeWitt; two daughters, Donna (Ron) Claussen of Grand Mound and Debra (Rodney) Paysen of DeWitt; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Pat) Reiling of Ocean Springs, Miss., Virtus (Joanne) Reiling of Clarence, Larry (Leah Rae) Reiling of Walcott, Roland (Verlee) Reiling of Wheatland, Wayne (Mari) Reiling of Davenport, and LaVerne Reiling of Port Byron, Ill.; sisters, Norma (Lyle) Sheldon, Elaine (Lawrence) McCormick and Gloria (Alan) Kagemann, all of DeWitt.
