Marcia J. Gregory, 65, of Camanche, Iowa, and formerly of LeClaire, Iowa, died Friday, August 11, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home. Marcia will be buried in Jack’s Cemetery in LeClaire, next to her grandson, Dakota Holst. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Camanche.

Marcia was born April 4, 1941 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Roy & Ruth (Kirk) Hamilton. She was united in marriage to Wayne Gregory on June 1, 1985 in LeClaire.

Marcia operated a daycare out of her homes in LeClaire and Camanche for over 40 years. She had also operated a bed and breakfast in LeClaire for 10 years. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, sewing, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Wayne; her daughters, Sarah Holst, of Eldridge, Iowa, Nancy Trone and her husband, Robert, of Lakeville, Minnesota; her son Doug Volrath, of Princeton, Iowa; her step-daughters, Winnie Hofsommer, and her husband, Randy, of Solon, Iowa, and Mari Mathiesen, and her husband, Jim, of Clinton, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; her sisters, Dorothy Kelly, and her husband, Jack, of Bettendorf, and Marilyn Purcell, of LeClaire; and her brother, Dick Hamilton, of LeClaire.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her step-brother, Donald; her son Scott Volrath; and her grandson, Dakota Holst.
