Merle M.(Tubby) Gladhill,60, of Pershing Blvd., died Sunday in Mercy Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Pape Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Carter of the Lyons Methodist Church officating. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with Paul T. Eastland in charge.

Pallbearers will be William Nicholas, George Steiner, Robert Foster, William Schunter, Kai Hansen, and Kenneth Dorathy

Mr.Gladhill was born Aug. 16, 1912 in Clinton , the son of Robert and Alpha Sipes Gladhill. He married Celia Bender Oct. 6, 1940 in Beaman. He was employed at the Sanitary Farm Dairies for 31 years and retired in 1966. He was a World War II Veteran, a member of Lyons Methodist Church Lyons Lodge AF-AM No. 93, Clinton Consistory and past president of the Clinton Bowling League.

Suvivors include his widow; two daughters Barbara at home, and Velma of Chicago; one sister Mrs. Carl Claussen of Clinton and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents , three brothers and one sister.
