Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Revs. Merle and Judy Paulsen, pastors of the Faith United Methodist Church in Baldwin and Monmouth, officiating.

MAQUOKETA — Donald R. Coffin, 85, of Maquoketa, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Iowa City.

Burial will be Tuesday in the Monmouth Cemetery.

He was born July 14, 1921, in Monmouth to Frank and Laura Weets Coffin. He married Lila Harrington; they later divorced.

He was a 1940 graduate of Monmouth High School.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.

He worked at Skelley Drugstore, Maquoketa. He later owned and operated Model Dry Cleaners in Maquoketa for many years. He then worked with Stolfers, DeWitt, until his retirement.

He was a member of Maquoketa American Legion Post 75.

Survivors include his children, Randy Coffin, Rhonda (Boyd) Davis and Rochelle (William) Black, all of Maquoketa; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
