SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fenton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bradford Wilson, pastor of Fenton United Methodist Church, officiating.

MORRISON, Ill. — Clifford M. Reisenbigler, 96, of Morrison, died Thursday at his home.

Interment will be in Fenton (Ill.) Cemetery.

He was born March 24, 1910, in Erie, Ill., to Ira James and Winifred M. Henwood Reisenbigler. He married Ada E. Burns on Feb. 4, 1933, in Fenton.

He was educated at Erie Elementary School and was a 1928 graduate of Erie High School. He farmed in the Fenton area for 60 years before moving to Morrison in 1993.

He was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church where he served in various committees and positions.

He was treasurer of the church for 24 years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau since 1933. He served on Fenton and Erie school boards for 37 years, Fenton Elevator Board and the Erie Public Library for 12 years. He served as Fenton assessor for 18 years.

In 1995, he compiled and published a book, “Remembering Erie,” for which he received the Studs Terkel Humanities Award from the Humanities Council of the state of Illinois. In 1996, he published another book, “Reisenbigler Family Record and History.” He and his wife compiled another book in 2003, “The Burns Family Record.” He also compiled data for an unpublished book, “Fenton, This That and What Not.”

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Jo (Ernest) Verhulst of St. Charles, Mo., and Constance (Kenneth) Lewis of Eau Claire, Wis.; two sons, Merle (Sharon) Reisenbigler of Morrison and John (Linda) Reisenbigler of Fenton; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Amy Enright of Erie and Vada (Bob) Wendell of Moline, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Fenton United Methodist Church.
