Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Henkenius-Priester Funeral Home, Bloomfield.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Wakeline officiating.

BLOOMFIELD — Gerald Dean Inskeep, 68, of Bloomfield and formerly of Clinton, died Thursday at his home near Savannah, Iowa.

Burial will be in the Independent Order of Oddfellows Cemetery, Bloomfield, with military rites by Reed-Whistler Post 78 of the American Legion.

He was born Nov. 6, 1937, in rural Bloomfield to Edgar “Jimmy” and Marie Bowling Inskeep. He married Sharon Hugunin on Oct. 2, 1959, in Clinton.

He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1955.

He was a veteran and served with the First Marine Division.

He was a machinist and retired from E.I. Dupont, Clinton.

He was a member of Bloomfield Christian Church, Pheasants Forever, Iowa Sportsman Association and Lifetime Endowment of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dean Edward (Jane) Inskeep of Waukee; one daughter, Julene Kay (Dennis) Wilson of Waukee; three grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Kinnamon of Bloomfield.

Memorials may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
