The Clinton Herald Thursday February 7, 1991 p. 14 M.Joseph Holdgrafer, 76, of 415 18th AVe. N. died Wednesday at Samaritan South. Mass of the Christian Burial will be noon Friday at Prince of Peace Parish, St. Irenaeus Church, with the Rev. Thomas Parlette officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Pape Funeral Home where a vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be all grandsons; James and Steve Holdgrafer, Travis Simmons, Allen Kloft and Darwind and Daryl Andresen. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and granddaughters. Mr. Holdgrafer was bron March 16, 1914 in Clinton County to William and Theresa Rose Holdgrafer. He married Marie Banowetz Nov. 16, 1937 in Sugar Creek. He farmed in the Bryant area and retired from Iowa Department of Transportation. He attended the St. Boniface grade school and was a member of St. Irenaeus Church. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Bertha) Andresen of Ames, Mrs. Wayne (Shirley) Kloft of Miles and Mrs. Steve (Donna) Simmons of Preston; two sons, Kenneth and Ronald, both of Bryant; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Eva Bormann of Clinton. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Death date: Feb. 6, 1991.
