The Clinton Herald Monday July 9, 1951 p. 9 William B. Holdgrafer, 84, of Hampshire township, died at 2 p.m. Sunday in his home. The body is in the Pape funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Boniface church, with Rev. Louis Rohret officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this evening in the funeral home by Father Rohret. Mr. Holdgrafer was born Dec. 31, 1866, in Clinton county, the son of Dietrich and Theresa Wubben Holdgrafer. He was married Jan. 23, 1895, to Theresa Rose, in St. Boniface church, Clinton. Surviving are his wife; eight children, Mrs. Leo (Clara) Fier, Charlotte, Tony, Central City, Alvie and Joe of Miles, Vincent, Mrs. Ed (Lena) Fier, Mrs. Leo (Eva) Borman, and Mrs. Marvin (Margaret) Kennedy, all of Clinton; 35 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Henry and John, of Williams, Frank of Stephen, Minn., Barney of Cuba City, Wis., and Clem, of Clinton; two sisters, Sister Mary Martina, of Dubuque, and Mrs. Clem Kimmann, Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, a grandchild, two sisters and his parents.
