SERVICES: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
DEWITT — Dora M. Morehead, 96, of DeWitt, died Monday at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
Burial will be in East Iron Hill Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.
She was born July 8, 1910, in Jackson County to Clarence E. and Ruby Johnson Miller. She married Glenn E. Morehead on Sept. 17, 1929, in Andrew. He died in 1991.
She was educated in Baldwin.
She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband in the Calamus area until 1949. They also owned and operated Morehead Grocery Store, Clinton, until 1956. She then worked at Mercy Medical Center for several years.
Survivors include her children, Howard (Shirley) Morehead of Park Rapids, Minn., JoAnn (Gene) Thielen of Davenport and Kay Maynard of DeWitt; 24 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A Dora M. Morehead Memorial Fund has been established.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, two brothers, one sister and several grandchildren.
