Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home; 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity with the Rev. Michael Holm officiating.

CLINTON — Glen W. Wheeler, 87, of Clinton, died Friday at Mercy North Hospital, Clinton.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Minot, N.D., at a later date.

He was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Schaller, to Clifford and Emma Gettman Wheeler. He maried Tresa Lane on Nov, 19, 1941, in Armstrong. She died in 1999.

He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He was a member of the Timberwolf Division serving in France and Germany.

He was a telegrapher with Western Union in North Dakota retiring in 1972. After his retirement he worked for Tolleffson Furniture in Minot.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton and Faith United Methodist Church in Minot. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He and his wife were members of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Cheryl) Wheeler of Clinton and Glendon “Skip” (Linda) Wheeler of Renton, Wash.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one sister.

Death date: July 21, 2006
