Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

FISHERS, Ind. — Frederick James “Sonny” Muhl, 70, of Fishers, died Thursday.

He was born July 12, 1936, in Clinton to John and Lucille Koch Muhl.

He graduated from Miles High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 1955 to 1963.

He worked with the RCA Recorded Tape Plant for 12 years. He also worked with Lowe’s for five years before retiring in 2005.

He was a mason in Iowa.

Survivors include his wife; children, Debra Matekaitis, Denise Ruth, Dean Muhl, Robert Shimer and Cindy Mitchell; one sister, Joann Daniels of Miles; and 16 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Little Red Door Cancer Agency or Ruth Lilly Hospice of Methodist Hospital, Yellow Rose Unit.
