Don “Dyke” Brondyke

The celebration of life reception for Don “Dyke” Brondyke will be at the Clinton Country Club at a later date.

Lemke Funeral Homes and Cremation service is in charge of arrangements.

In following Don’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded, no funeral services will be held.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Don Brondyke, 77, died Saturday July 15, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus.

Donald L. Brondyke was born September 16, 1928 in Fulton, IL, to Dewey and Clara (Wiebenga) Brondyke.

He attended Fulton Christian Schools and graduated from Clinton High School.

He was a veteran of the Navy.

On July 25, 1948 he married June J. Bumann in Clinton. She preceded him in death in 1984. He later married Charlene Phillips May 28, 1988 in Clinton. She survives him.

Don worked in Sales, he was a Realtor for 25 years and was a furniture representative for over 25 years.

He was a member of the Clinton Country Club, was an avid golfer and was an I Club member for over 40 years. He was Past member of the Salvation Army Board, was past president of the Clinton Jaycees and Past President of the Gyro’s.

Survivors include his wife Charlene, a daughter Vicki Brondyke of Clinton, SC, and a son Bob and his wife Barb Brondyke of Clinton, his grandchildren David, Kate and Kurtis Brondyke, four stepchildren Ethyl Farr of Clinton, Alfred Phillips Jr. of Elpaso, IL, Renee Phillips of Elpaso, IL and Billy and Susan Phillips of Fulton, IL, 14 step-grandchildren and six great step-grandchildren, a sister Janice Brondyke of Houston, TX and a brother Jim Brondyke of Long Beach, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
